Vicky’s Keys Volunteer Centre

Permacultured Garden

Volunteer Centre & Eco Hostel “Vicky’s Keys” has several gardens cultivated with herbs, vegetables, fruit and fish (Aquaponics system). Led and managed by dedicated volunteers, Vicky’s Keys grows organic food efficiently for its community of volunteers and to distribute to the local neighbourhood at low cost.  Surplus produce from Vicky’s Keys is sold at The Keys Market.  Vicky’s Keys includes a small classroom area where we demonstrate our Aquaponics system and offer medicinal and plant-based cooking classes. We welcome local volunteers to work the gardens at Vicky’s Keys every Wednesday and Saturday between 9am and 11am. Contact us to make an appointment.

Roots Revival – Plantation Succour

We’re proud to be an integral part of the Roots Revival Project, working alongside the Marlin Yard Foundation and Vicky’s Keys Volunteer Center to breathe new life into Sint Maarten’s agricultural heritage. Through our partnership with HAICI (Heritage Agrarian Institute of Caribbean Innovation), we’re combining traditional farming wisdom with modern sustainable practices to create a living legacy at the historic Succour plantation.

Our members are actively engaged in this transformative initiative, contributing their expertise and labor to restore these historic grounds while learning enhanced agricultural techniques. Through HAICI’s educational programs, we’re not just cultivating land – we’re cultivating knowledge that bridges our past and future.

The Crowd Profit Sharing program offers our members a unique opportunity to be part of this historic transformation. As we work the land, we’re not just growing crops; we’re growing a sustainable future that honors our ancestors’ resilience and wisdom. Our community gardens and CSA programs at the restored plantation site serve as living classrooms, where traditional agricultural practices meet modern innovation.

Join us in this meaningful journey of restoration and growth. Whether you’re a local farmer, an aspiring agriculturist, or a supporter of sustainable development, your participation helps us cultivate a food-secure future while preserving our precious agricultural heritage.

Together, we’re not just reviving roots – we’re growing tomorrow’s possibilities.
