Vicky’s Keys is a unique volunteer center and eco-community in Sint Maarten, inspired by the kibbutz model of communal living. We focus on sustainable agriculture, community development, and eco-tourism.

Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Agricultural Team Leader to manage our sustainable farming initiatives and lead our eco-projects while living as part of our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Kitchen Garden, Aquaponics & Permaculture systems
  • Oversee fish farming operations
  • Plan and implement crop rotations
  • Lead agricultural workshops and training sessions
  • Coordinate community garden development
  • Guide and mentor volunteer teams
  • Participate in community leadership
  • Contribute to sustainable development initiatives

Community Living Duties

  • Participate in daily community meetings
  • Lead morning work assignments
  • Organize communal meals planning
  • Foster community spirit
  • Mentor volunteers in agricultural practices

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in sustainable agriculture
  • Proven knowledge of aquaponics and permaculture
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fluent in English (additional languages a plus)

Work Structure

  • 40-hour work week
  • 5 days on, 2 days off (rotating schedule)
  • Flexible hours based on community needs

  • Volunteer Units: 2 community-style units with 4 bunkbeds each (8 single beds)

Our Volunteer Lodging Department offers purpose-built accommodations designed for group volunteering experiences. We provide shared common areas and communal facilities to encourage collaboration and community building.

Our current capacity includes:

  • Community Dorms: 4 bunk beds (8 sleeps) and 1 tridle bunkbed (3 sleeps)
  • Private Studios: 2 queen-size beds
  • Total Capacity: 15 volunteers per night
