Grow Your Own Food

Grow your own food at The Keys Gardens
– together with Sint Maarten Food Farm Gardens Association
Food Farm Gardens Association (FFGA) is creating “The Keys Gardens” a garden park located in The Keys village in Sucker Garden. Developments are happening.
In the near future The Keys Gardens will have:
A) Traditional community gardens where people rent a plot (allotment) to grow their own fresh produce.
B) Educational gardens where gardening, landscaping, nutrition and medicinal and healthy cooking will be taught.
C) Community Supported Agriculture where volunteers will help grow vegetables for local markets and people in need.
The Keys Gardens has started the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program to help create Food Security on Sint Maarten. This CSA program will apply different food cultivation methods to create bigger yields of vegetables, herbs and fruit to which you can subscribe to and receive fresh produce on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. The applied food cultivation methods are hurricane challenged such as aquaponics, hydroponics, permaculture and greenhouse tillage. All methods will be applied to help sustain agriculture all year round on Sint Maarten.
To enjoy The Keys Gardens – FFGA community gardens and be able to rent a piece of land (allotment) to grow your own food it is mandatory to become a member. This link explains the key projects developments, how to become a member and how you can apply for an allotment: https://www.marlinyard.org/allotments-community-gardens
We hope to welcome you as a member that will help us sustain agriculture on Sint Maarten soon.
Happy Gardening!
